Snorkel Mask Shield
We are happy to announce the first Accelerated Research project to be ready to go out into the field! The Snorkel Mask Shield is a reusable face shield alternative PPE created from an off-the-shelf full-face snorkel mask by adding a custom adapter that allows the user to add an inline breathing circuit viral/bacterial filter. This system was developed by Protect-MI.org as a locally-sourced variant developed in parallel with The Pneumask Project.
Visit the Makers section for information we've gathered to assist makers in helping respond to the pandemic. We aim to collect ideas which will allow makers of varying skill levels and available tools to make a positive contribution. Please contact us if there's a way we may help you or your maker group amplify your impact.
Operation Face Shield (Ann Arbor)
Protect-MI.org has provided a platform for Operation Face Shield (previously Operation Face Shield Ann Arbor) to assist with the coordination of volunteers in making and distributing thousands of face shields to those in immediate need. Over 14,000 have been delivered!
Visit the Operation Face Shield section for more information on the group and to request face shields and mask tensioners (ear savers).
Operation Face Shield is an independent, informal group of volunteers, not a legally registered entity, and is not formally affiliated with Protect-MI.org
